He has already racked up nine catches for 123 yards this season. That kind of early production proves he was way more than just a throw-in piece from the Sauce Gardner trade with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Jets passing game actually looked functional for the first time since the flip phone era. They jumped from dead last in 2025 to 13th overall this year, largely because Mitchell and Garrett Wilson were finally giving defenses two actual problems to worry about.
