Polymarket is a prediction-market exchange for users who want to trade event contracts on sports, politics, crypto, culture, and news outcomes rather than use a conventional sportsbook. US access is tied to Polymarket US/QCX and CFTC oversight, with availability varying by state, identity checks, product rules, and Polymarket terms. The upside is the depth and variety of markets in one product. The main tradeoff is that users need to understand exchange-style fees, contract resolution, funding rails, state-level availability, and security expectations around account access and product interfaces. Overall, HotTakes views Polymarket as a high-depth prediction market for prepared users, but not a simple sportsbook replacement.
