Cardinals CB Will Johnson Could Miss Season After Neck Injury in Seattle Blowout

The Cardinals just got absolutely boatraced by the Seahawks 31-7, and somehow the scoreboard wasn't even the worst part of the weekend. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, starting cornerback Will Johnson suffered a neck injury in the fourth quarter that could sideline him for the rest of the regular season.

Head coach Mike LaFleur dropped the hammer on Monday, admitting the 2025 second-round pick could miss the balance of the year. Losing your top corner in Week 2 is the kind of roster disaster that makes defensive coordinators stare blankly at the ceiling at 3 a.m.

Johnson was already battling the injury bug early in his career, having missed five games during his rookie campaign with groin and back issues. He managed to grab a fumble recovery in Week 1, but now Arizona is staring down a depth chart that looks like a triage unit. To make matters worse, fellow corner Max Melton also left the Seattle game with a toe injury.

The Cardinals' secondary is currently held together by athletic tape and pure optimism. Denzel Burke is still out there to start, but with Garrett Williams rehabbing an Achilles and Starling Thomas V working his way back from an ACL tear, Arizona is running out of warm bodies.
