When Hentges is actually cleared to throw a baseball, he is highly effective, boasting a shiny 2.93 ERA in his recent track record. The problem is that getting him on a major-league mound requires a minor medical miracle.

This roster move hits at the worst possible time for a San Francisco squad that is currently in a total freefall. The Giants just got completely dismantled by the Arizona Diamondbacks, dropping four straight games and surrendering 30 runs in the process.
