Maxx Crosby Shuts Down Trade Market, Stays With Raiders

Maxx Crosby is officially suiting up for the Las Vegas Raiders today, slamming the door on an offseason trade market that he apparently dismantled with his own two hands. According to Ian Rapoport, the star defensive end personally told interested teams he had zero interest in packing his bags.

That means the rollercoaster is over. After a heavily rumored deal with the Baltimore Ravens fell apart, other front offices tried to swoop in. Crosby looked at the escape hatches and decided he would rather stay exactly where he is.

The Los Angeles Rams were reportedly one of the teams trying to get him in the building. You can hardly blame them for making the call, especially after watching their defense get completely dismantled in a 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers earlier this week. But Crosby essentially sent them straight to voicemail.

In the modern NFL, this is objectively hilarious. We are so used to star players scrubbing their social media and demanding trades to contenders at the first sign of franchise turbulence. Crosby had a golden ticket to jump ship to a playoff heavyweight and actively chose to stay in the desert.

His decision completely shifts the temperature in Las Vegas. The Raiders host the Miami Dolphins today, and having their franchise edge rusher on the field changes the entire math for anyone looking at the defensive props or the point spread.

The Ravens and Rams will have to figure out their pass-rush problems somewhere else. Crosby is staying in silver and black, proving that sometimes the most shocking roster move is the one a player refuses to let happen.
