Patriots Place A.J. Brown on IR, Sign DT DaQuan Jones in Classic Defensive Pivot

The New England Patriots just made a roster move that perfectly encapsulates their current vibe. According to Adam Schefter, New England officially placed star wide receiver A.J. Brown on injured reserve and signed veteran defensive tackle DaQuan Jones.

Losing your best offensive weapon and immediately signing a 300-pound run stuffer is the most Patriots response possible. The offense is bleeding out, so naturally, it is time to fortify the A-gap.

Now, with Brown heading to IR, he is mandated to miss at least the next four games. That leaves a massive void in a receiver room that desperately needed his gravity to keep opposing secondaries honest.

As for Jones, he brings veteran stability to the defensive interior. He is a proven commodity who will eat up blocks and help keep linebackers clean, which is great for the defense but does absolutely nothing to help score points.
