Ravens Rookie Ja’Kobi Lane Defies Human Anatomy, Nears Return 4 Weeks Post-Surgery

Four weeks ago, Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane was having his wrist surgically repaired. Now, he is apparently ready to catch NFL fastballs again.

According to Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport, Lane is expected to return to practice this week. Head coach Jesse Minter even went as far as saying the rookie has a legitimate shot to suit up this weekend.

"Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport reported the return to practice."

Most normal humans take four weeks just to stop wincing when they open a jar of pickles. Lane is out here trying to block linebackers and haul in passes over the middle of the field.

Before the injury derailed his start to the season, Lane was the absolute talk of Baltimore's training camp. He was reportedly carved out for a massive role in the offense, which makes his sudden return a massive boost for a team trying to build on its early-season momentum.

The Ravens are coming off a gritty 30-23 road win over the Atlanta Falcons. Adding a dynamic rookie playmaker back into the mix gives this passing attack a completely different ceiling.

For anyone tracking depth charts or looking for a spark in the prop markets, Lane’s practice participation is the ultimate wild card. If he actually logs full sessions, the offensive distribution in Baltimore is going to look completely different than it has over the first month.

The next few days of practice reports will tell the real story. If Lane actually takes the field this Sunday, it will be one of the fastest and most absurd injury turnarounds of the season.
