Saints Lose LT Kelvin Banks Jr. to Ankle Surgery in Brutal Blow to Offensive Line

The New Orleans Saints managed to escape Baltimore with a 24-17 win on Sunday, but the victory tax just came due in the worst possible way.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, standout left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. suffered a severe high-ankle sprain, requires surgery, and is officially out indefinitely.

Banks was carted off in the fourth quarter against the Ravens, which is usually the universal sign that you should stop refreshing your timeline and start lighting candles. Initial whispers hoped for a standard four-to-six-week absence, but the surgical route means the Saints are now operating a makeshift offensive line for the foreseeable future.
