Sixers Roll Out Absurd 2K-Style Starting Lineup Featuring LeBron and Embiid

The Philadelphia 76ers are rolling out a starting five on Friday that looks like a glitch in a fantasy basketball draft lobby. According to Underdog NBA, Philadelphia will start Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, and Joel Embiid.

Yes, you read that correctly. LeBron and Embiid are actually sharing the floor on a Friday night in November instead of wearing matching designer sweatsuits on the bench.

"Underdog NBA reported: 'Lineup alert: Sixers will start Maxey, Edgecombe, Brown, LeBron, Embiid on Friday.'"

The Sixers are heading into their matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 5-1 record after grinding out a 112-106 win over the Detroit Pistons. Maxey has been carrying the offensive load all season, dropping 28.2 points per game while the veterans manage their minutes.

Throwing rookie VJ Edgecombe into a starting lineup with three massive stars is objectively hilarious. It is the basketball equivalent of putting an intern in charge of a Fortune 500 company while the executives take a long lunch.

For anyone looking at the spread against the Cavaliers, this starting five is a massive wild card. You have enough firepower to blow the doors off the arena, but the defensive rotation might look like a turnstile by the third quarter.

Enjoy the spectacle while it lasts. The Sixers have to travel to play the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night. If you think LeBron and Embiid are playing both ends of a back-to-back in 2026, I have a bridge to sell you.
