Spurs Unleash Terrifying New Starting Five Against Kings

The San Antonio Spurs are rolling out a starting five that looks like a video game simulation where someone forgot to turn the salary cap back on. According to an alert from Underdog NBA, San Antonio will start De'Aaron Fox, Dylan Harper, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, and Victor Wembanyama on Tuesday night.

They are hosting the Sacramento Kings, which instantly turns this into a revenge spot for Fox against his old squad. Throwing a highly motivated Fox into a lineup that already features a generational alien and three elite perimeter pieces is the kind of roster construction that makes opposing coaches want to fake a stomach bug.

"Underdog NBA tweeted: 'Lineup alert: Spurs will start Fox, Harper, Castle, Vassell, Wembanyama on Tuesday.'"

This group is objectively terrifying on paper. You have Fox pushing the pace at lightspeed, Vassell and Castle locking up the perimeter, Harper adding another layer of playmaking, and Wembanyama just existing as a human cheat code in the middle.

San Antonio is coming off a 122-106 weekend dismantling of the Dallas Mavericks. After dropping their first two games of the season to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets, it looks like the Spurs have finally figured out how to optimize their new toys.

If you are looking at the prop markets for this Kings matchup, good luck figuring out who gets the usage. Fox is going to want to put on a show against Sacramento, but Wembanyama is always a threat to accidentally drop a 30-point triple-double. The rest of the league is officially on notice.
