Trey Hendrickson Is Playing With a Shattered Finger Because NFL Pain Tolerance Is Fake

Breaking a finger into "several pieces" sounds like a medical emergency for normal people. For Trey Hendrickson, it just means finding a bigger glove.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning that the Baltimore Ravens pass-rusher is slated to play against the New Orleans Saints despite his finger currently resembling a jigsaw puzzle. He will be rocking a cast on his hand, which is objectively terrifying for any offensive lineman tasked with blocking him.

Hendrickson did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and was limited on Friday, officially drawing a questionable tag on the final injury report. But this is the exact same guy who broke his wrist in 2022 and somehow stayed on the field for the fourth quarter. Pain tolerance is clearly not a measurable metric on the scouting report.

The Ravens are looking to build momentum after hanging 41 points on the Indianapolis Colts last week, and keeping their defensive front intact is a massive part of that equation. Bettors eyeing the Saints' offensive line props or Derek Carr's passing yards need to factor in a very angry, cast-wielding edge rusher who still managed four sacks in a banged-up 2025 campaign.

We will see exactly how much a clubbed hand limits his pass-rush arsenal when Baltimore kicks off against New Orleans. If he manages to log a sack with a hand that looks like a plaster oven mitt, the league might need to study him in a lab.
