Tyler Glasnow Returns to Rescue the Dodgers' Rotation

Tyler Glasnow is finally coming back to the mound, which means the Los Angeles Dodgers' rotation is about to look like an actual major league staff again instead of a witness protection program.

According to MLB Trade Rumors, the big right-hander is officially slated to return on Tuesday. Glasnow has been parked on the 60-day injured list with lower back spasms since May 8, leaving a massive void at the top of the depth chart for over three months.

Before his back locked up, Glasnow was doing exactly what Los Angeles paid him to do. He was sitting on a 3-0 record with a 2.72 ERA and a microscopic 0.83 WHIP. Those are the kind of numbers that make opposing managers want to fake a stomach bug rather than fill out a lineup card.

His return completely flips the math for the National League playoff race and the daily betting markets. You do not just casually plug a sub-1.00 WHIP guy back into the mix without shifting the run-line expectations and strikeout props for every game he starts.

The Dodgers desperately need the stability. They have been grinding through a weird stretch lately, including dropping a couple of tight games to the Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend.
