The UFC is officially running it back with Robelis Despaigne, and they are absolutely not handing him a soft landing for his return tour.

According to MMA Junkie, Despaigne has booked the first fight of his second UFC stint. He will be squaring off against heavyweight brawler Tai Tuivasa at UFC 331.

Getting cut from the premier MMA promotion and fighting your way back is a brutal, exhausting grind. Your reward for pulling it off usually shouldn't be getting locked in a cage with a guy whose entire game plan revolves around throwing absolute anvils until someone falls over.

This is the definition of a heavyweight car crash. The matchmakers clearly looked at the roster and decided they wanted a fight that has a zero percent chance of requiring the judges to do any math.

When the odds finally drop for this one, do not expect the "fight goes the distance" prop to offer any kind of value. This is the exact type of matchup where you look down at your phone to read a text and look up to see someone staring blankly at the arena lights.

UFC 331 is still taking shape, but adding a Tuivasa brawl to the card is a guaranteed way to wake up the arena. Despaigne wanted a second chance on the big stage, and he is about to get it in the most violent way possible.
