The UFC is officially stuffing the stockings for its December 12 pay-per-view. According to a release shared by Sportsnet's Aaron Bronsteter, UFC 335 just added two new matchups to the winter slate.
Maycee Barber is set to square off against Carli Judice, while Quentin Pasley will lock horns with Junior Tafa.
"Aaron Bronsteter reported the matchups via a UFC release."
Barber is the undeniable marquee name of this drop. She has spent the last few years trying to violently climb the women's flyweight ladder, and she usually brings the kind of chaotic energy that makes for great television.
Judice is getting the classic UFC prospect test. The promotion loves to throw a rising fighter into the deep end against an established veteran just to see if they can swim, or if they are strictly chum.
On the other side of the announcement, Junior Tafa brings his trademark heavy hands to a clash with Quentin Pasley. If you have ever watched a Tafa fight, you know the judges can usually take a quick coffee break. It is going to be violent, and it probably will not take long.
Oddsmakers have not released the opening lines for these bouts yet. Still, it is safe to assume Barber will command respect at the betting window given her track record, while the Tafa fight will likely be priced as a pure coin flip based on who lands the first clean shot.
With December 12 creeping up fast, the UFC 335 card is starting to take real shape. We will find out soon enough if these matchups make the main card cut or if they are just high-end appetizers for the early crowd.
