UFC Vegas 122 Weigh-Ins Are Live, and the Sweating Has Officially Begun

The ritual of MMA weigh-ins is objectively absurd. We all gather around a live stream to watch severely dehydrated professional fighters step on a scale in their underwear just to make sure the weekend's violence is legally sanctioned.

That time of the week is officially here. MMA Junkie has fired up the live stream for the UFC Vegas 122 official weigh-ins, getting the final numbers on the books for what is also being billed as UFC Fight Night 290.

"LIVE NOW! #UFCVegas122 official weigh-in results, live stream"

Because the fighters are literally stepping onto the scale as we speak, the final tally of who hit their mark and who missed is still up in the air. We are currently in the danger zone where a highly anticipated matchup can completely evaporate over 0.2 pounds.

For casual fans, this is just a formality. For anyone with a vested interest in the weekend's betting board, this live stream is the most stressful broadcast in sports.

A brutal weight cut is the ultimate red flag. It does not just mean a fighter is about to forfeit 20 percent of their purse to their opponent. It usually means a compromised chin, a gas tank that hits empty by the second round, and a moneyline that is about to swing wildly.

Until the commission officially signs off on every fighter, the card is just a suggestion. Keep an eye on the final numbers before finalizing your read on the fights, because a guy who looks like he just spent three days in a sauna wearing a trash bag is usually in for a rough night in the cage.
