Cowboys Leave DeMarvion Overshown Grounded Ahead of Packers Clash

The Dallas Cowboys are officially leaving one of their most athletic defenders on the tarmac.

Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is not traveling to Green Bay and has been ruled out for tomorrow’s matchup against the Packers, according to Mike Garafolo. If you were hoping the Dallas defense would be at full strength for a trip to Lambeau Field, it is time to adjust your expectations.

"Mike Garafolo reported that Overshown isn't traveling to Green Bay and has been ruled out for tomorrow's game."

Overshown is dealing with a hamstring issue, adding another frustrating chapter to a career that has been defined by brutal injury luck. This is a guy who previously tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL in a single shot, missing 32 games in the process. You have to feel for him, but the timing for Dallas is terrible.

When healthy, he is a massive problem for opposing offenses. Overshown racked up 90 tackles and five sacks back in 2024. But so far in 2026, he has only managed to log seven tackles in a single appearance. Now, the Cowboys have to face a Green Bay squad that just casually dropped 31 points on the Chicago Bears last week.

With Overshown and defensive back Cobie Durant both sidelined by bad hamstrings, the Dallas defense is suddenly looking very hollow in the middle. Anyone looking at the betting lines for this game has to factor in how easily the Packers might be able to run the ball against a depleted front seven.

The only silver lining is that Dallas has not placed Overshown on injured reserve yet. That suggests the front office thinks he can bounce back soon without missing a massive chunk of the season. But for tomorrow, the Cowboys just have to figure out how to survive four quarters in Wisconsin without him.
