Falcons Injury Chaos: Chris Lindstrom and A.J. Terrell Questionable for Week 2

The Atlanta Falcons are heading into Week 2 with their two most reliable foundational pieces slapped with the questionable tag.

Having your newly extended $81 million cornerback and your All-Pro right guard on the injury report before you even play your first home game is like buying a Ferrari and immediately getting a check engine light in the driveway. According to ESPN's Marc Raimondi, Chris Lindstrom is dealing with a concussion and A.J. Terrell is nursing a shoulder issue.

"Marc Raimondi reported that Lindstrom (concussion) and AJ Terrell (shoulder) are questionable."

Lindstrom being in the concussion protocol is a massive red flag for an offense that desperately needs stability. This is a guy who has started 105 consecutive games since 2019 and allowed exactly one sack in over 1,000 snaps last year. If he cannot clear protocol, the interior of that offensive line suddenly looks like a turnstile.

Terrell is dealing with a shoulder problem after getting banged up in the Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He managed a full practice on Thursday, which is a positive sign, but you never want your lockdown corner nursing a joint problem when he has to tackle NFL wide receivers in open space.

This is a nightmare for anyone trying to handicap the Falcons right now. Atlanta is already juggling a chaotic quarterback room with Tua Tagovailoa sidelined by an oblique injury, leaving Cooper Rush and Michael Penix Jr. to take the reps. If you are looking at the spread for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, you are basically betting on a medical chart.

We will see if either star gets the green light by Sunday kickoff. If Lindstrom and Terrell are stuck in street clothes, Carolina might actually have a pulse in this divisional matchup.
