Columbus is taking on a fascinating haul here. They are grabbing Lorentz just days after Toronto literally put him on waivers. Throw in Andrae, a defenseman who spent half of last season bouncing between the AHL and the injury report, and the Blue Jackets are clearly betting on a change of scenery doing some heavy lifting.

For anyone looking at the Atlantic Division futures, this completely scrambles the board. Toronto is desperate to fix a roster that finished with a minus-46 goal differential last season, and adding a high-priced winger alongside a volatile veteran goalie in Merzlikins is certainly a choice. Columbus, meanwhile, gets younger and clears out massive cap space after finishing a respectable 40-30-12 last year.
