Vikings Offense in Limbo as Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison Face Pregame Tests

The Minnesota Vikings are walking into New Orleans with an offense that currently exists only in theory.

According to Ian Rapoport, star wideouts Justin Jefferson (ankle) and Jordan Addison (hamstring) are both officially questionable and will test things out in pregame warmups before deciding if they can go against the Saints.

"Ian Rapoport reported that Jefferson has said he will 'do whatever he can to play in a Louisiana homecoming game.'"

Having one of your top receivers as a game-time decision is stressful. Having both of them on the fence is the kind of scenario that makes an offensive coordinator stare blankly at a Waffle House menu at 3 a.m. If neither can go, Minnesota's passing attack suddenly looks like a preseason fourth-quarter broadcast.

The stakes are especially high for Jefferson. Rapoport noted the superstar is determined to do whatever it takes to play in his Louisiana homecoming. When a guy is returning to his home state and wants to put on a show for the local crowd, you usually need a crowbar to keep him off the field.

This double-injury limbo is an absolute nightmare for anyone holding a fantasy lineup or looking at the prop market. You cannot confidently touch a Vikings passing prop or game total until we see how these guys look running routes in shorts.

We will know their official status about 90 minutes before kickoff. Until then, Vikings fans and bettors alike are just refreshing their feeds and hoping Minnesota does not have to rely on the practice squad to move the chains.
